We sailed on the Legend leaving Tampa on 1/31/10. First I need to tell you how this cruise came about. We had returned from the "Land of the Big Mouse" last year, and when my boyfriend said, "Do you know what I want to do next time we go?" I answered "scuba again." He said, "oh no,if I want to scuba I want to do the ocean." So I started researching. For the money, nothing beats a cruise. So I called Carnival and asked a bunch of questions regarding the Legend, and scuba opportunities, and I decided to book our reservation. My agent told me that this ship had a chapel on it. I kiddingly told my boyfriend about the chapel, just in case, LOL he wanted to get married, and he proposed to me right there and then.

We didn't use the chapel, getting married on board was not in our budget, we got married in the county Courthouse, but this was our honeymoon and our best friends came with us.

We flew down to Tampa the day before our cruise, for you never know about winter weather even in Atlanta. When we got to Tampa, it was cold and raining. We stayed at the Embassy Suites Westshore, plenty of perks here, they pick you up at the airport. They offer a shuttle to the port for $10.00 per person. The reservation included the breakfast buffet, and a managers reception in the evenings at 5 p.m. And they sent up chocolate covered strawberries for our honey moon. They could not make the sun come out though, so when one of our friends needed to go to the drugstore, they drove her to the store, waited on her, and drove her back.WOW! This hotel is right across from a mall, so plenty of area to walk around in, even if it's raining.

Cabin Review

Cabin 8G

Cabin 7258 on the Verandah deck. This cabin had a balcony length that was the width of three cabins, plenty of space.

Should have invited people over, but we enjoyed just having the two of us there. Our agent told us it was next to a towel/laundry room. It was not. It's next to an ice room, but we heard no noise, no ice clinking or being created. Once our cabin door was closed we heard nothing. We were around the corner from the elvators, and never heard noise from that area either. It was just plum perfect.
