It is interesting to note that I spoke with many other travelers from the Cruise (on the bus and at the Airport) and my comments below reflect what the majority also felt.

The ship is old and outdated. Needs a major overhaul. The Chief Cook and many of the chefs need to be sent back to Chef School to relearn how to cook and determine menus. We found that the best place too eat with multiple variety dishes was the Deck 12 Cafe. With Chin Chin being the exception, the other specialty restaurants delivered less that good food, preparation, menu, and service delivery. To rate the Customer Service is to give it a POOR rating. The exceptions were the staff who did the "washy washy" mantra and many of the food service runners in the Cafe. The bartenders throughout the ship could not create the same drink "Bushwacker" consistently. That should tell you something. The mixology is listed in the menu but the actual mixes by 90% of the bartenders was completely off base. Our group visited each bar and tested the bartenders on how to make this simple drink. 90% failed miserably and we offered to show them how. That is pretty high failure rate. I believe the worst incident was the TSAR's Dining Room where after ordering Prime Rib, flounder, NE Clam Chowder, desserts, etc... the 1st night out (Captain's Dinner) many had to return to their staterooms to purge the lousy food. That single meal made all of us realize that NCL is badly managed and substandard food was being served. We queried the Food staff about why Salmon, Alaskan King Crab and Lobsters were not included in the menu on the Alaskan Cruise and the only response was that they were not purchased and not included in the Menu. REALLY? This is the Alaskan cruise and you don't think that serving the actual foods of that region is not simply you would provide or offer?

Overall Good is actually better that it should be since we all eat and drink & when that is substandard it impacts the whole ship’s rating.

Vancouver is a wonderful city and we got there early. Never been there so we opted to get there early and enjoy the city. Highly recommend this port.
