My husband and I enjoy cruising multiple times a year. Our favorite cruise line is Celebrity and second favorite is Royal. We live in NY, and every August like to do a no fly cruise. We decided to try the Adventure of the seas for a change as we like the itinerary. We usually go to Bermuda, which is very hot-but a pretty island. Boarding the ship was a breeze, we boarded before 11:00 AM. Disembarkation was also easy.

The ship was in recent dry dock and some of the public areas were upgraded. Compared to the Oasis class ships, small and missing some of the "bells and whistles". The ship has three specialty restaurants. Izumi, Chops and Giovanni's table. Also a Johnny Rockets. We enjoyed Chops, Giovanni's and Johnny Rockets. Since we had an unlimited dining plan, we ate nightly either in Chops or Giovanni's. We were in a suite, but this ship didn't have a suite dining room. You could have a cooked to order breakfast daily in Giovanni's if you were in a suite.

We were in an owners suite. It was very nice and comfortable. Our cabin attendant Johnnychan was excellent. The cabin had relatively new carpet and the couch was redone- but things like the bathroom mirror needed re-silvering- so not everything in the cabin was updated. However we had plenty of storage and the bed was comfortable. We were under the pool and one night we were awakened by loud noise- sounded like they were using a power saw from about 2:00 AM for about one hour. That was horrible, we reported it and it never happened again. Another issue was that three of the public elevators were not working during most of the cruise. I had read before that this apparently is an ongoing problem and not permanently fixed. Hopefully it will be soon.
