We chose this cruise on date availability, price and opportunity to sail to Cuba.
The cruise ship staff were very nice and friendly. The ship was clean and the staff were very adamant about hand sanitizer and not spreading any sickness. We appreciated that! Even in the public bathrooms they had a message asking us to use a tissue to open the door. On a not so good note, these bathrooms were often lacking toilet paper or paper towel. Not cleaned and replenished often enough. We originally booked a cabin with a window then was offered to put a bid for an upgrade if one became available. A week before our cruise, we were surprised to hear our bid was accepted and we were moved from the 5th deck to the 10th with a balcony. The room was tight but clean and comfortable. Our cabin steward Bagus was always smiling and friendly. Kept our cabin clean and ready. The buffets were good and almost no fried foods! The fruits were sweet and juicy. The specialty restaurants we attended were the Italian (amazing lasagna) and the steak house (great service and delicious steaks!). The entertainment in the Atrium and public areas were much better than in the theatre! The band called Power of Six were amazing! They did a great job covering songs most knew and could sing along and dance to in the hallways. The shows in the theaters were cheesy, the dancers were mediocre and the singers were not good. I’ve been in other cruise lines that the entertainment was much better. However, the Cruise Director was excellent, very hands on and involved.
The excursion we picked in Cuba was perfect! We did a 10 hr tour, in an AC bus and went west. Visited a tabaco farm, a small town, a museum, a beautiful valley, and an awesome painted mountain! Our tour guide Alex and our bus driver Leon were awesome! A great way to see the countryside and other parts of Cuba!
The cabin was small but clean and comfortable. Had 2 twin beds put together and we couldn’t feel the crack between. There was a small desk, tv, and phone. There was a try with glasses, and bottled water (pricey). The bathroom was tiny and I can’t see an overweight person comfortably fit in the shower! It had hand soap, liquid body soap and conditioning shampoo. There was a safe and beside it, a small hair dryer. The balcony was just right! Fit two chairs and a small table. Had a perforated rubber floor and walls for privacy. Our cabin steward Bagus was always smiling, wishing us well, asking about our day and creating adorable creatures out of towels! Great experience!
Lots of jelly fish. Not comfortable to swim in the crystal clear water.
