We were with a very large group (65 people!) and chose this cruise because our Travel agent got us an amazing deal. I talked my family into all going. It was my husband and I's first big trip as we went very close to home on our honeymoon. My parents had taken my little sister and I out of the country to the Bahamas when we were about 15 and 13 but our significant others had never seen the ocean before!
I can not say enough good things about our first cruise. The Magic certainly spoiled us! We were all nervous that it was a larger ship but even though there were clearly more people on the ship we never felt crowded or pushed around not even on port days getting off the ship! Food was delicious! I will recommend starting your morning with some room service, a nice little relaxing wake up call. Guys Burger (AMAZING) and Blue Ignuana (TACO SALADS!) are a requirement to get everything out of your cruise. The nights we went to the main dining room were fantastic but we had late dining and sometimes felt we were missing out on stuff we wanted to do so we went to the buffet or 24 hr pizza. I will say our waiters were great. We weren't huge fans of our main waiter because he seemed more preoccupied with the tables that were tipping him very high nightly and kind of ignoring us. His assistant waiters were literally amazing. I got very sea sick (because I'm stupid and didn't plan ahead) and they gave me some Ginger Ale for free because I was MISERABLE.
My husband is a big beer drinker (think wine obsessed woman and he's at the same level). He LOVES the Red Frog Pub Ale and always got giddy when the group of us went to sit and relax at the Pub and got a beer tower. This was a better deal plus we got to enjoy some Karaoke and people watching ;-)
Cabin was perfect for us! Even with my insane sea sickness we weren't in there long enough for it to bug us. Room had a TV, minifridge, safe, 1 outlet (bring a powerstrip), and we didn't hear our neighbors.
Left us lacking. Not a lot to do if you didn't have children. We spent the day at the swim up bar which was nice but I think we would've had more fun on the ship. If we take another cruise with this port we'll be staying on the ship.
Beautiful port but we were newbies and got caught in a tourist trap. Take the time to look up places to go and DON'T take a tour in a taxi.
LOVED THIS PORT! We walked around and looked at the old forts and got some history into San Juan. Afterwards we walked around found a delicious local restaurant and then kept close to port people watching and shopping.
Beautiful, clean, beach. Bar was fun and involved everyone to have fun! Would buy water shoes to wear as the beach has coral as does the ocean which can be rough on your feet. We loved every second!
