Avalon and our cruise Paris to Normandy surpassed all our expectations. Where to start...The food. I gained 10 pounds! The food was wonderfully presented, tasted great and was plentiful as was the wine. The ship's amenities were comfortable and convenient. Excursion options made it a difficult decision each morning on where to go. While on an excursion, the guides were very well prepared, buses were clean and comfortable and we always felt safe. And our cruise director threw in a couple of extras like recommending the light show in Rouen or bringing an author on-board who has researched the Normandy invasion to provide his insights prior to our visit.

The crew of the Tapestry II were friendly, always upbeat and presented themselves as wanting to ensure we were having a good time and had all of our needs met.

Avalon also reserved a hotel for a pre-cruise stay in Paris. It was conveniently located at the foot of the Eiffel tower. Plus Avalon handled all or our transfers, to the hotel, to the ship and back to the airport. On time taking away all stress related to visiting and navigating a foreign country for the first time.

Cabin Review

Outside Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin A

Our cabin was very nicely appointed and the room-wide window made it very light and comfortable. There were ample closets and drawers, the bed was comfortable bed and the bath was bright with thick comfortable linens provided for bathing. The in-cabin TV also came in handy for watching world news and a WWII movie preparing us for our Normandy / D-Day beaches visit.
