We chose this cruise so we could take our daughter and her family on a cruise before school started. They had been on a short cruise with us two years ago and we wanted to go on a longer one. The Getaway does not disappoint. We had aft facing balcony rooms and the kids, 9 and 13, really enjoyed the view. These rooms are small, but adequate for three people and, after all, how much time do you really spend in a room? This was our first time on a Mega ship and it really was an experience. We had no problem with seating for dinner at the main restaurants and the entertainment was easy to access, as well. The Garden cafe is crowded, but you expect that and we always could find a spot of 6 people. The kids loved the rope course, rock climbing wall and water slides. We loved just sitting by the pool, but you did need to get there early, especially on sea days. NCL was very good about watching for unattended deck chairs. We all loved the food we were served, especially Teppanyaki and Cagney's. The Million Dollar Quartet was terrific. We had seen this show in Chicago and, if anything, this one was better. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Two of the bartenders at the MIXX bar made special drinks for the grandchildren and they loved it. We love NCL and this was our 20th cruise with them. We would highly recommend the JOLLY RODGER snorkel tour. great people, great equipment, great fun.
