Our first Celebrity cruise! We are very seasoned cruisers, and chose this Bermuda trip to relax and experience the Celebrity approach. The ship may be older, but it was in excellent condition and quite clean. Our balcony stateroom accommodations were roomy and very comfortable. This cruise featured a three day stay on the island.
The highs were the friendliness and kindness of most staff, including the room steward, the dining room staff, and the photographers. The ship offered a myriad of activities for all ages, with unique experiences such as watercoloring, professional dance lessons, paper plane contests and so forth. The two pool areas were large, fun and full of activity. Many of the evening shows were first-class productions and very enjoyable. The show Chandelier was crazy funny and allowed the performers to shine.
The lows included hit or miss meals (some dishes were wonderful, some inedible), pushy staff trying to upsell restaurants, alcohol and jewelry, a late arrival in Bermuda, and a last-minute cancelled shore excursion. The television programming is extremely limited and has too many Celebrity channels. Many folks report the coffee is mediocre.
Our cabin was a comfortable balcony room with plenty of storage. The wood paneling reminds one of private yacht decor. The bathroom was a fair size and quite manageable. The room featured a television and a desk.
