Wanted to return to Bermuda, avoid air travel and the exorbitant hotel and restaurant prices. Cruising from Bayone, NJ just a car ride away. We opted for Concierge class cabin, had a great veranda but at first thought the cabin a little small, unrealistic expectations, but was comfortable and well taken care of. The Summit is due for a multi million dollar overhall but the negative reviews about how dirty and neglected the ship is we're not at all true. The common areas are very attractive and comfortable. One of the advertised perks of Concierge was priority dinning reservations. Not true! When unable to get the time we wanted, we were on any time dinning, asked the concierge for help to no avail. Basically said the restaurant makes the rules. Also the quality of food in main dining was ordinary at best. Having sailed on Holland America many times we found their regular dining room excellent, much better than Celebrity. Also the alternate restaurants were overpriced, $45 per person for the Tuscan Grill and extra for a cappichino. The Ocean Grill had many options and there was a back grill where they prepared fresh grilled salmon, chicken, stake, and pork chops, as well as panini. If you timed it right no long lines and fresh hot food. Overall the buffet area was well run and the food quite good with a large variety to choose from. The service in all areas was excellent. Bermuda has excellent public transportation and welcomes cab sharing which makes it affordable so we went sightseeing and to the beaches on our own. We did use ship excursions for snorkeling and sailing and both trips were lots of fun.
