We had a great week on the Norwegian Sun! The ship is on the smaller size, which we loved. You don't spend your whole time walking to and from areas and we traveled with our elderly parents, so it was great for them. The bars and lounges were comfortable and the staff was attentive. We stayed in an aft facing balcony room with connection to our parents suite (8077 and 8078). Our rooms were exceptionally clean with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The bathroom could use a little update, but really an excellent room. We found the buffet to be very nice, good food selections and wonderful service by the wait staff. Both experiences in the main dining rooms were fair, mediocre food quality and service. The specialty restaurants were the bomb! Seems strange that they are on such opposite ends of the spectrum. My recommendation is to utilize the buffet and the specialty restaurants for meals, forget the main dining rooms. As for the ports, we enjoyed Key West on our own - it was extremely hot! I will utilize the Conch Train or some type of hop on hop off tour next time. The time is limited in Key West so it is hard to complete everything on your own. Havana was amazing! We utilized a friends referral for a private group tour, and loved every moment. I probably learned more about the Cuban people and government relations than in school. Overall I found this to be an ideal cruise, especially liked the unlimited beverage package and itinerary. The last day at sea made the trip so relaxing! Highly recommend the Norwegian Sun!
