Our Travel Agent Dottie O'Callahan recommended Viking to us. She said all of her other clients were pleased and always returned to Viking. Now we know why. We were met at Basel Airport and taken to the Tialfi. We were invited to have lunch while rooms were cleaned after previous guests disembarked. The ship was modern, clean and there were beautiful deck spaces to sit and watch the Rhine go by. The food was wonderful. They had time in the lounge every night for the tour director to explain the next days schedule. We had quiet piano music in the lounge every night too so we could talk to each outer and not have to yell. Each of the stops were in quaint old European cities and we had guides at each stop who narrated the tour with the aid of small face microphones that we accessed with ear pieces so there was no distortion from ambient noises.

We ended in Amsterdam and Viking had already made arrangements for our pick up.In our case, a taxi to take us to a hotel. Others went directly to the airport to fly home. The crew was outstanding from the people who cleaned the cabins to the waitressesand waiters. My wife wanted to take one home with her. This speaks volumes since it must be a taxing job and some travelers are probably less than civil to them, yet they maintained smiles and positive attitudes.

We can't wait for our next Viking adventure. We have our reservations for June 2019, this time the Danube.

Lare enough, all we did was sleep there and shower.
