Enjoying the coral and fish through the glass-bottomed Kayaks.
Enjoying the balcony views at night.
It was hard work sometimes. :)

As a complete novice cruiser, I had no idea of what to expect. I had read quite a few forum comments and by the time we departed I was expecting the worst, cold food, poor service, an old shoddy boat and anything that wasn't free I assumed would be overpriced. I was pleasantly surprised.

We stayed at the Ibis Hotel King St. It is only a short walk from the ferry terminal linking the Sydney Cruise Terminal with Sydney City. Our departure day went smoothly without any stress or overexertion. The ferry trip was hugely exciting from Barangaroo around the point to the wharf with the Pacific Eden proudly waiting for us.

Whilst there is no doubt that the ship is an old lady of the sea it was in fine order and felt very sturdy. Unlike the Manly Ferry, there was hardly a rust spot to be seen and a few times during the cruise we noticed some fresh painting and varnish sprucing the floating beauty up for it's continuing adventure.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

The cabin was larger than expected. Giant mirrors gave the impression that it was a huge space, and allowed the light to enter further into the room. It was neat, tidy and warm. We had more than enough space for storage with a stack of drawers and enough hanging space for everything and more. We were happy enough with our lodgings the night before we boarded, in a fairly new Ibis hotel, and when we boarded we were stoked because the ship's cabin was larger, and of course, it was waterfront... NICE.
