Sail Date: Jul 2018

We and another couple took this cruise to see a large number of places as a first visit. We briefly explored Rome for 4 days prior to joining the ship. The embarkation and disembarkation was seamless. We booked a transfer from the ship to the airport to fly home - again was extremely smooth. Our cabin had a balcony - it was used a number of times - entering/leaving port, watching the coast as we sailed along, and just getting some sun. We opted for fixed traditional dinning. The food was the best food we have had on any cruise ship. The wait staff were attentive and fun to be with. The entertainment was good with many exceptional performances. We enjoyed the comedians the most. The house band was very good and we enjoyed the song & dance performances. We typically had shore excursions during the day and became tired after dinner - we rarely stayed up late. I enjoyed the astronomy introduction - some of the ship's lighting was reduced to facilitate seeing the stars and 5 planets - Venus, Earth, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter. The ship's staff had a mixture of recorded audio and live discussion. The cabin staff was attentive, efficient and very interested in what we were going to do each day. We were consistently treated as valued guests - any request was handled very quickly. All but 3 of the excursions were provided by Princess. They were well done, but some of the descriptions of the excursions and reality did not match. Comments were submitted to ship's excursion staff and were acknowledged promptly. In one case a partial refund was made.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

well appointed - king sized bed. Desk used for reading and planning next days activities. Balcony was used every day - reading, watching the shoreline, entering/exiting ports.

Port Reviews

Salerno

visited both Sorento and Pompeii with a Princess excursion. It was a long day - but very enjoyable and educational.

Corfu

I walked into town and wandered around on my own. Enjoyed visiting some of the old fortifications. A pleasant low pressure day.
