My wife and I scheduled this cruise as a convenient and varied way to spend time with her mother. While getting on and off the ship should have been a breeze, it was very smooth boarding and transferring from the airport, but disembarkation was a nightmare: no taxis for 45 minutes while hundreds of us stood in the rain waiting. Sigh … it wasn't RCCL's fault, but they come and go from Bayonne regularly and should have anticipated the issue. Perhaps the port facilities could be upgraded with more covered waiting areas?
Our cabin was very nice, and well maintained, but the ship is only three years old and that should be expected. These lower price point cruise lines have reputations for deferred maintenance but we were pleasantly surprised to note the crew constantly hard at work and any deferred maintenance could not be seen.
Dining was a chore in the main dining rooms. Soup was frequently served at tepid temperatures, time between serving courses was extended to the point our party frequently eschewed dessert because we did not want to sit around that long. One of the few times we tried dessert, a "molten chocolate cookie" was served cold and it had sat so long before being served it was delivered to the table as a slab of concrete. The Maitre D' was very apologetic, but that was a little too late.
The cabin and balcony were nicely appointed and comfortable. Cruise passengers make fun of the "small" showers, but with the new rounded door there seems to be more room than you would expect. Our cabin was also very conveniently located near the forward elevators.
