We chose this cruise because we felt like it was a good value and there were perks included through Costco including 3 specialty dining room meals, beverage package, and shipboard credit. We went with another couple who have been on several cruises with different cruise lines and they said this was one of the nicest ships. Embarkation left a little to be desired. If you cruised before it made sense but for us it really wasn't clear what to do, where to go, or how the who process worked. We were very impressed with our Cabin. We had an aft balcony cabin and it was much roomier than we expected with plenty of storage so that we could unpack all of our luggage and hide the bags away for the week. Our cabin steward was great and managed to get in and out in the morning when we went to breakfast and in the evening when we went to dinner. We were concerned that being on the back of the ship would put us to far from the action but it really wasn't to far to walk to everything. We were very happy with the food. The garden cafe (buffet) was good if you like Buffets but not really our thing. We went a couple of times for breakfast when we had early excursions to get to. They have omelet stations so you could get fresh food cooked. It is a great place to stop by to grab a cup of coffee or fill up your water bottle! All the regular dining rooms such as Taste and Savor were great. Lots of good variety, proper sized portions, and the food was delicious! We had breakfast, lunch and dinners in the dining rooms and they were all great meals! We ate at three specialty dining rooms during the week-Modernos, Tepenyaki, and Cagneys. Moderno and Tepenyaki were fun if you've never experienced these types of restaurants but they take a long time to get through the meal and served WAY too much food which left us full. If I went on this cruise again I would pay to go to Cagneys. The prime rib was delicious as were all the sides. If hubby and I had paid for our meal it would have been around $80 and was worth it! We went to the shows every night and they were entertaining. We saw Million Dollar Quartet, and Burn the Floor and thoroughly enjoyed them. Our friends went to the Cirque show and recommended it too! We also paid extra to go to the Wine Lovers Lunch show. The show itself was a little hokey but it included 6 tastings and the lunch was delicious! Other ship activities that we experienced included the ropes course, the slides, and the adult area (H20 Spice). The ropes course was really cool! We went on a Port day and got there right when it opened up so there was no wait. There is no extra charge for this course and no limit as to how long you can play. The slides were fun and no...we weren't the only adults on them. Finally, the best hang out was the H20. It's an adult only area. We stopped by daily for a few hours. There is a bar, 2 hot tubs, and a fun water area with benches and falling water. Not a pool-but a great place to cool off. We were always able to find a lounger when we went. We also did the Ice Bar. $20 each for 30 minutes in the ice bar. It included 2 drinks but nobody kicked us out after 30 minutes and they kept refilling our glasses with delicious vodka cocktails. It's kitschy with plastic throne and blue lights but it was fun to do once and we got some fun pics! Excursions: Costa Maya-We did the Pirates catamaran and snorkeling and had a great time. The guides were fun and helped all levels of experience feel comfortable and safe in the water. I recommend this tour! Harvest Caye-This is a "fake" island created for the cruise lines. It's not Belize. Beautiful beach and water area but food and drinks were expensive. We rented a Kayak for an hour and then went back to the ship where the food and drink was free! Honduras: The jungle Zip Line was a blast! First time zip lining and I would go again for sure! Cozumel: We did the cooking class and beach time at Playa Mia. This was my favorite. We cooked an authentic Mexican meal and ate it. OUr chef Luis was so fun and they kept bringing drinks while we cooked. Afterwards we went to the beach for a while before heading back to the ship! Miami Tour: This was very disappointing. We booked this because we thought it would be a great way to see Miami and kill the hours before our flight. The bus is a double decker with all the seating on top in the open. It was hot, humid, and there was no shade or AC. The sound system was horrible and we spent the trip wishing that we had just gone straight to the airport.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom
Cabin B1 11912
Our cabin was very nice. Good size, comfortable beds, and the bathroom was plenty big. The balcony was amazing. It was too hot and humid to take full advantage of the balcony but it was large, fitting 2 lounges and 2 chairs. We did enjoy early morning and evenings out there and really enjoyed the great views as we entered and left ports.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Snorkeling
We did the catamaran/snorkeling excursion. The tour guide "pirates" were a lot of fun. They took the time to fully explain how to snorkel and broke us up into beginners and experienced snorkelers. They were so patient and kind to those who were scared. I would do this one again.

WE did the cooking class and beach time at Playa Mia. All you can drink while you cook and chef Luis was so fun! This was my favorite excursion.

  • Harvest Caye
This is a "Disneyland" stop. It's not really Belize...just a fake island. Food and drink are very expensive. There is a nice beach area. We rented Kayaks and paddled around the fake lagoon but after paying $27 for a beer and a Mai Tai we headed back to the ship for free drinks and food.

The tour itself was nice and interesting. The bus was a double decker with all the seating up top. No shade and it was hot and humid. We were sweating like crazy by the time we got to the airport.
