We had taken 3 previous cruises with Scenic and the cruises had been beyond reproach in all phases.
On this cruise it was the little things that were missing. We shouldn't have to ask to have to have the shower gel replaced. We had to change ships because of low water levels and we left an apple Tablet pen behind in our cabin. The Cruise Director appeared unimpressed and unconcerned about attempting to have the pen retrieved and/or sent home for us. It was apparent that no attempt was made to even determine if the pen was found.
On our last night we waited for 2 hours to get a cold meal. What was supposed to be tenderloin was like shoe leather. Again, the Cruise Director did not seem to care. When the issue was raised with the Chef he offered to by us a drink. He had to be informed it was an all inclusive cruise. Poor employee awareness.
202 was on the Jade and 204 was on the Jasper after the ship swap. Both cabins lived up to our expectations and were typical of the level of accommodation we have come to expect from Scenic. WE liked that they had raised the beds so that now a suitcase can fit underneath them. as always the partition that you can raise and lower to include the balcony as enclosed space is a big bonus.
The guide was good but we broke off from the tour to do a little shopping. If you are looking for authentic dirndls and German tract, Regensburg is a good place to go.
Enjoyed the walking tour. For history buffs, the document centre is a great place to go. we were there on our own a number of years ago.
