The whole trip around the British Isles appealed to us as Australians. So many relatives originally hailed from here and even though we've been there on land trips this was a first to see so many destinations in a 12 day period. Unusually for us, we embarked in Le Havre, as the majority got on in Southampton. This meant a speedy embarkation process. The weather was superb and we were able to see all ports as per itinerary. St Peter Port in Guernsey was gorgeous with plenty to see in the small town except, being such a huge ship and having another cruise line in port at the same time, meant it was packed to the rafters. We took 3 attempts to get on the local bus 91/92 to go around the island and then it was so packed couldn't enjoy the ride. I think better to pay for the local commentary bus for this excursion.
The line up to get the tender back was horrendous. All other ports were straight forward with only Queensferry using tenders and no lines there. But it was the amazing shows on this cruise I want to give a shout out for. Don't, whatever you do, miss seeing The Secret Silk, by the producer of Wicked. THE best production show we've seen and that's up against Encore, another superb show. Cruise director Mat O' (born to do this job) and his superior put together a lot of incredible acts on this cruise...the Mersey Beatles tribute band, Greg London vocal impressionist who's recently performed at Las Vegas, Sopranoist Shelley Rivers, 2 comedians and a mentalist. All top acts!
We never used Princess Shore Excursions other than shuttles and motor coach between Le Havre and Paris. We can recommend Invergordon Bus Tours. Our guide Kevin was so warm, easy and interesting to listen to, and very professional. We went with them around Lochness, Inverness and Cawdor Castle.
We love the 2 huge flat TVs in these rooms and plenty of space.
Opted for the local bus excursion run by volunteers. Gave them a donation.
