Sail Date: Jul 2018
Cabin: Concierge Class 2

We picked the cruise for the itinerary in particular the 3 days in St Petersburg with the chance to visit Moscow and a day trip to Berlin. The itinerary was well paced and as we prefer small groups we did not use Celebrities tours.

Embarkation was a breeze, it was less than an hour from arriving at check in to being allowed on board. Disembarkation was just as smooth.

Shore excursions: We used an independent company in Stockholm, St Petersburg including a day trip to Moscow and Berlin as we wanted to be in a small group. We went on the ships tour of the Palaces and Castles of Copenhagen and it was well organised.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

Cabin: 1219. We picked this cabin as we wanted to be mid ship and it was just as we had anticipated it to be.

Our bed was next to the balcony which meant we had room to move in the main section with a comfy sofa. The end of the bed has curved end so you do not bump into the corners in the middle of the night and gives you a bit more space for manoeuvre. We didn’t find the shape or position of the bed to be a problem and we both slept soundly.

Storage: at first glance you think there isn’t enough storage, but once you unpack you realise there is more than enough. The overhead storage units were fab (at 5ft 2 I could reach them perfectly well and as we pack using packing cubes we popped them on the shelf which made life really easy) and the 3 huge drawers in the main section held all of our T shirts and shorts etc. There were 22 hangers in the wardrobe but we brought some wire ones from home. The suitcases sat at the bottom of the wardrobe and one slid under the bed.

The bathroom was more than adequate, the shower did not require you to have a degree in bathroom appliances and while the fixed shower head may cause some people problems they do provide shower caps. The sink was a good enough size to wash out a pair of shorts. The shavers light stayed on all the time, but the door closed so well that it did not shine light into the cabin at night time. There was more than enough storage for toiletries etc. The bath robes (Concierge Class) were very useful.

The balcony: easy to use sliding doors, table with 2 chairs with foot stalls. We both used the footstalls and if they were not there we would have wanted them.

The room was perfect for our needs, it was kept spotlessly clean and the turn down service with the a chocolate on our pillows was a nice touch.

We would have liked a bit more room, but space is a premium mid ship.

Port Reviews

Tallinn

An interesting port, we visited the Museum of Occupation, the story of the periods in history that most Estonians would rather forget about.
