I had been on this same itinerary same cruise line 4 years ago.
Here's what improved:
Loved the entertainment!! Cruise director Matt was hilarious and I saw my first Crew talent show. We loved the excursions in Skagway- the Chilkoot trail and rafting were just lovely and our guide Emily was wonderful.

it was fine, inside quad, bunk style beds. Cramped for 4 but we paid on the cheap so it was just what I expected
the lower bunk beds were significantly more comfortable than the upper bunks
