I must tell you the few shows that were done were very good. However, having shows on two different stages of the ship cancelled early in the cruise was plainly unacceptable. Technical difficulties on two different stages with mechanical issues was disappointing. We commend the cruise and entertainment staff attempting to substitute for the show cancellations but we found their adhoc pieces lacking.
We also experienced a fowl odor from under our table in the American Icon dinning room. We had a terrible odor from underneath the table from where sixteen of us were seated. The smell was like dirty laundry or well worn socks. Our family made a complaint to the head waiter and he explained it was due to damp carpet and there was nothing the could really do as they washed the carpet every day. Shamefully, we would leave those seats to the last of the party who arrived because the smell was so noticeable and lasting during the cruise. It certainly made the meals less than appealing.
We brought 16 family to celebrate our first grandchild's high school graduation specifically to celebrate on the largest cruise ship in the world. We came away less than impressed.
Very pleased with our cabin steward and the cabin itself.
