I have been reading Cruise Critic for years, and can now write my first review. My family sailed in an Aqua Theater Suite ( 1 bedroom, room 14730) on the Allure Eastern Caribbean cruise 7/22/18. We have cruised on Disney, Celebrity, Carnival, Norwegian, and Royal (Anthem, Grandeur, Explorer, and Vision), but this is our first time in a suite and our first time on an Oasis class ship. Overall we had a fabulous time. We are not drinkers or partiers. We were looking for a relaxing cruise after a long difficult year and we were not disappointed.
We arrived in Fort Lauderdale the night before the cruise and stayed at the Hyatt Place on 17th street. It was very clean and quiet. We got the shuttle to the cruise terminal at 10 am. We dropped our luggage off and went to the suite security entrance. We were the only ones in line and were through security, and checked in in about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, people were still disembarking from the ship until about 11 am, so embarkation was a little delayed. Once they started, the Star Class suites were escorted on board first, and then the Sky and Sea Class suites were boarded. It was very quick and easy. The suite lounge was open and we parked my husband and carry on luggage there and my sons and I went exploring.
I have been on 4 Royal Caribbean cruises, bur nothing can really prepare you for an Oasis Class ship. It is HUGE. Central Park is a lovely area with plants and flowers and walkways to stroll. The promenade on 5 and boardwalk on 6 are lots of fun. The are many little alcoves and shady and sunny spots to rest, read, and relax. I am not going to review day by day, because I justt cant remember it that way, but will discuss different areas.
