We wish to compare the two suite class ships, Equinox and RCL Allure. We sailed in cabin #1663 S1 300/57 sq ft on Equinox, and on RCL Allure 7-15-18 cabin #14644 OS 556/243, though bigger only used 2/3 of balcony.Comparing the suite options.Found the food which had been very good in the Coastal Kitchen one year ago same ship same time, not as good this year. Same breakfast lunch menu every day on Allure.Upholstery in Coastal Kitchen and lounge needs to be changed. Windows in Luminae need to be cleaned. Equinox entertainment is really boring, especially Topper and Elysium. Though the cast was great, the production lacks. Entertainment aboard the Allure is much better.Suite guests be aware that reservations are required for the Comedy Shows, on the Allure, otherwise the Host will wait list you in a separate line until all reservations are filled, and you are left to fight for what is left. You can book all the Comedy Shows with your concierges every night to avoid the embarrassment. Also, suite guests, please be advised that beverages are complimentary only in the Coastal Kitchen and Lounge, red wine is limited to one cabernet and one merlot. Premium beverage package on Equinox is far superior and included in their 4 perks booking special for suite guests.Decided to book on board another Equinox, but instead of booking Allure we opted for the Symphony. We specially enjoyed Michael's Club on Equinox. The pastry chef is better on Equinox. Enjoyed the concierge service on both, especially debarkation right to baggage. Though on Allure you meet in the Coastal Kitchen deck 17 wait for elevators, congregate in the Champagne Lounge, deck 5, for a special lapel sticker waiting for the elevators to bring down the rest of the suite guests before as a group you disembark. On the Equinox you all meet in Michael's Club and are escorted off from that deck.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 1

Cabin S1

The cabin was very comfortable with adequate closets and storage. Cabin steward kept the cabin impeccable. Balcony was large with two lounge chairs and a table.

To reiterate, we have discovered that our most important criteria for choosing a cruise is the size of the balcony to accommodate, comfortably, 2 lounge chairs facing out, either port or starboard side, depending on the ship's designated smoking areas. This is all the more important on a ship like the Equinox, since it has no dedicated suite sun deck. Followed by cuisine and then price.
