We chose this cruise because of it's itinerary. On the cruise, we could visit cities in five countries along the Adriatic and Aegean Seas. We were disappointed when we could not get into Koper, Slovenia and Viking did not offer any compensation.
We did take the pre-cruise excursion in Tuscany and it might have been our favorite part. Beautiful villa accommodation and wonderful tours and dining in Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. Our third trip to Florence and we never tire of the beauty and history.
Our time aboard the ship was very comfortable. Stateroom was comfortable and crew was very accommodating. We would prefer more entertainment in the evenings other than music in the bars. Other cruises have offered a variety of shows in the large theaters each night. Dining and service was exceptional. We made reservation in two alternative dining rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the small dining experience.
Cabin and balcony was very comfortable, although a little smaller than expected. We think this was because of the balcony taking part of room.
Our crew was very accommodating, we ask for ice and lime to be delivered at three each day and they delivered. They kept our room in perfect condition, always nice to come back to clean room after day of touring. They should be commended for taking care of us, always with a smile on their faces.
Arrived around noon, after boarding ship, took shuttle to St Marks's Square. Haven't been there in a number of year and was saddened to see the water going into the Cathedral.
Missed the port due to weather. Was disappointed Viking did not offer compensation for missing this port.
Could not get into Zadar due to weather, went to Split instead and enjoyed the tour very much.
Another missed port due to weather. So disappointed to miss the legendary city of Olympia. And no offer of compensation from Viking.
