It is a very old, tired ship. We have cruised a lot over the last 10 years (primarily Celebrity & Carnival) and this was the worst cruise we have ever done. It was a family reunion and we wanted it to be special but the food was bland, the entertainment was poor (especially the kid's entertainment which was almost non existent) and the waiters seemed very stressed and also ill informed about wine. Took them over 5 minutes in the dining room to search for & find a wine list. They wanted us to order wine without knowing what we would get. They just wanted us to order "red" or "white". The excursion in Havana that we had booked several weeks ahead of time was a complete waste time & money. We booked the extended tour of 5 hours which should have included a one hour shopping trip to a market where we had planned to shop for souvenirs with our two granddaughters. The shopping trip was eliminated and not replaced with anything else. The "5 hour trip " started at 10 a.m. and finished at 1.38 p.m. with the tour guide promising to show us an area for shopping for souvenirs as she led other members of our tour group to a restaurant she had persuaded them to eat at. We walked through the back streets in the searing heat for over 10 minutes away from the ship with no sign of shops so, as there were no opportunities to shop where we were being led & several of our party were retirees, we decided to turn around & struggled back to the ship. Our souvenirs of Cuba had to be purchased at the very limited shops in the cruise terminal. All we saw of Havana was a couple of forts and two drink stands by the side of the road and a cemetery. The tour description in the Royal Caribbean literature bore no resemblance to where we were taken on the actual tour. To add insult to injury, when we returned to the ship, on the RC television channel this excursion was still being advertised as per the RC literature (including the opportunity to shop which in actual fact never materialized.

Disembarkation was a shambles. We were left in the theatre with no cruise member present to give us information as to how and when to leave the ship. After sitting in the theater with other guests for over half an hour awaiting being called to leave, we finally took matters into our own hands and joined the line leaving the ship. In conversation with other guests, they all appeared to do the same thing because of lack of Royal Caribbean direction.

This was first cruise with Royal Caribbean and our last.
