We always go with Tui on cruises as we have enjoyed the experience in the past. We thought the Explorer was worth a look but were disappointed overall. The negatives were minor in comparison with both Discovery ships but made a difference to us. On the adults sun deck, some beds were broken, towels were down but no takers as per usual, the back the seat in the show lounge came off as I sat down and only one coffee machine in Lattitude 53 was annoying. We had to walk out a few times to catch the show, as we had waited so long. The food was adequate but not too exciting and the waiters were sometimes a bit ‘novicey’.

On the positive side, we always got a bed on any deck, waiter service was good on the decks and our cabin on deck 12 was excellent with cabin staff really helpful.

We had sailed with Captain John before and he was as informative about destinations as on past cruises and the entertainments manager was also very good.
