Viking provides a high level of service with great attention to detail. Being met with hot towels on return and given FREE bottles of water every time we left the ship was so welcoming. The ship is beautifully appointed. We used the spa and salt water pool often. Fresh robes, towels, sandals in a locker for each visit. Massages are reasonable and the Nordic Bathing ritual was a highlite and only $39! The food and many dining options were above expectations.

All of their enrichment activities are interesting. A young historian, Jonathan Migliori, was especially knowledgeable and had a unique, amusing, and in depth presentation. The entertainment was well done and the Cruise Director was a star one night, singing well known tunes. The assistant Cruise director sang opera and performed Nessum Dorma like Pavarotti! Both were excellent talents doing double duty. The young performers were also very good and very entertaining. The four piece band was outstanding.

The excursions we took were all included at no additional cost and were very good. Some of the ports were small towns with few sights, so the local guides filled in with local information and culture making them worthwhile. The port of Geiranger was spectacular. We recommend the private tour offered at the port. We arranged on-line and it was more extensive and very reasonable with an excellent guide. We had only five other guests with us.This port is so spectacular that you want to see as much as possible.

Cabin Review

Cabin Penthouse Veranda

The Penthouse Veranda is very spacious. There is plenty of storage and many plug in places. The balcony is also oversized and provides plenty of room for sitting and coming and going. There were excellent blackout curtains which were needed for a cruise into the Midnight Sun. This cabin came with early selection for tours and dining. This was a great bonus. It also includes mini-bar. Since we only drink wine, we requested removal of liquor and replacement with red wine. This was done with no problem. Filling a cabin glass and taking it to on board functions was a bonus. The cabin was well worth the splurge for us.
