The Getaway is beautifully designed with something for every age group to do while on board. From family fun at "Escape the Big Top" to Cirque Dreams and Steam to Howl at the Moon to Ultimate Challenge...Water Slides, a High Ropes course where you can walk to plank out over the ocean, mini golf, rock climbing wall, bungie jumping..... The list of FUN goes on and on! The cabin (10766) midship was fantastic. LOTS of Storage space (Under the beds, Big closet, Couch with HUGE drawer, and balcony. The dining available was wonderful, never a wait, good selection with a themed course each day. Even Sushi/Sashimi was served at the Garden Café. O'Sheehans was a great place to see/hear the action going on below in the Atrium. The specialty dining choices (for an extra fee) that we went to were, Cagney's (DO NOT MISS THIS RESTAURANT It's AWESOME - but leave at least TWO HOURS for this Fine Dining Experience); Cirque Dreams and Steam the food was ok but the show was Phenomenal (Worth it); Maderno, a Brazilian restaurant was a dining experience if you LOVE LOTS of different Meats. The salad bar was HUGE and offered lots of choices. We found the service to be EXCELLENT wherever we were the crew always had smiles, greeted us and even showed interest by asking questions like where we were from and would go out of their way to please! Paquito and Joey our Cruise director and assistant were HILARIOUS and you could see them conversing with passengers. (They both are Great Dancers too!) A Shout out to NOEL our Cabin Stewart for all you do behind the Scenes and for making my daughters 40th Birthday Celebration Cruise an Awesome Time! And make time for a massage WOW it was one of the best I've ever had! PORTS: Costa Maya - we didn't do an excursion but stayed in the "village". The Shops were your usual touristy stuff. Harvest Caye - Belize was separate from the "real Belize" but the amenities on the island were wonderful. Too bad when we were there the BLUE flag was flying warning of Jelly Fish so we dipped our toes in (to say we were in the water) and went to the Gorgeous beautiful ONE and A HALF ACRE pool! With swim up pool bar! Lots of space for everyone to enjoy swimming. ROATAN - We visited with my Niece while there so I can't give you any advice except if you can take an excursion to see the mangroves (Got a private tour by my niece). COZUMEL - SALSA and SALSA - This was the only "paid" excursion we did and it was worth every penny! It's a bit of a walk to get to the BUS that took us to a resort (which really was not too far) but the FUN while we learned how to make authentic Margaritas (free flowing while we were there) to Guacamole to 5 or 6 different Salsas was memorable! I WILL be Saving for my next Getaway Cruise! Can't Wait! Thank You Norwegian for making my 1st Cruise a Wonder-Filled time!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

Enough space for two. LOTs of Storage under the beds for suitcases. Also under couch there were two HUGE drawers. Closet was plenty big with shelves and a safe. VERY Clean, this cabin with Balcony had an unobstruced view ( I say that because some balcony rooms were above the life boats which was still unobstructed but you couldnt see the decks below like we could). You have your own thermostat but it only works when your keycard is in the "slot". No need to worry but if you are trying to charge some of your electronic equiptment it will only charge while your card is in the slot.

Port Reviews

Miami

Leave plenty of time to get to the port if you are driving yourselves. I would recommend that you hire UBER of LYFT to get you there. The Embarkation is organized kaos but chill out you are about to embark on a Crusie of a Lifetime!

Costa Maya

Designed for tourists.

Harvest Caye

No need to take an excursion here. Stay in this Awesome Resort for the day and enjoy the pool, poolside swimup bar. The water. Norwegian Cruise Life did a great job on this port.

Roatan

Look for homemade items at the market. These people rely on us for support. The Monkey excursion was a hit by all those I talked to. Also west beach (I think). Took a boat ride with my niece who lives there through the mangroves. Beautiful! If you can it's worth it.
