Soviet Flashback

Wonderful way to see this part of the world! Small ship, gorgeous scenery, real life history, delectable food, efficient crew and staff, and an overall enjoyable vacation. Viking has thought of everything to make the trip easy and effortless. Extremely early arrival was greeted by welcoming guides, breakfast, champagne, and an area to hang out in until cabins were ready. Fellow travelers were friendly and easygoing.

Tried all the restaurant venues. The World Buffet was ideal for speedy breakfasts or lunches before activities. The Pool Grill’s made to order sandwiches were very filling and the Aquavit Terrace had relaxing light meals with a view. Finally The Restaurant, Manfredi’s, and the Chef’s Table all provided anything you could want for a ‘nice’ dinner. Don’t miss the rib eye at Manfredi’s, the gelato or the cappuccino at the buffet, High Tea in the Wintergarden, or WINE everywhere.

Disembarking and embarking at every port was quick and organized. Most excursions were well planned but required extensive fast walking. Shopping time was limited. Especially loved St. Petersburg and Berlin. Learned a lot on Soviet Flashback while having a great time.

Cabin Review

Cabin DV

Plenty of room, always clean, good beds, adequate closet space. The bathrooms are roomy and the heated floor a treat. Convenient laundry enhances cabin experience—no hanging wash in bathroom necessary.

Only concern is bass and band noise coming from bar on Deck 2–but it did stop about midnight.

Viking camp fun.
