Sail Date: May 2018

My dream vacation after I retired was to visit my ancestors in Athens Greece. I shopped for a long time for the perfect itinerary. I knew I wanted a small ship with a veranda and no kids. I choose Viking for these reasons. I had no problem booking my trip, plus if you paid with echeck you got an extra three percent off. I flew in early so you need to find the ship on your own. Staff greeted us, checked our passports and gave us a glass of champagne to welcome us aboard. Walking tours were just okay. Food was not up to the quality I expected. Chefs Table is TERRIBLE. Room was fine, but could use more drawers. I had to leave half my clothes in my suitcase. So only two drawers per person. Getting on and off the ship was no problem. Entertainment on ship was fun. I upgraded to get a room that was on the land side when we came into port so the value was a little expensive for what we received. My suggestion is to book early to get a less expensive room.
