  3. Viking Sea
San Juan to Barcelona spring crossing. Overall...a great trip, enjoyed everyone we met—staff and cruisers. Positives: 1. Crew, especially our Indonesian cabin steward. 2. Dining. We ate dinner in the Main Dining Room + the 2 specialty restaurants. All were excellent, and our favorite was the Main Dining Room with its 6-person “shared” table. Great opportunity to meet new friends. 3. Entertainment. Very pleasantly surprised! We enjoyed all the evening shows — plenty of variety, but each show was filled With enthusiasm and joy. P.S. Quality was “Triple A” in baseball terms. Terrific young performers “moving up” and developing their craft. If you need the Met every night, go to New York. If you love variety...sail on the Viking Sea. 4. At Sea for 7 days? Great. Always busy, yet still relaxed. Very refreshing Disappointments: 1. Half-day tour on St. Martin. Our 3-hour island tour was all about devistation and destruction on the Dutch side following the Sept 2017 hurricane. If Viking’s goal was to add tourist dollars to help restore the economy, then it was B- tour. If it was to show-off a beautiful Carribean island, then the grade was a D. Note: due to road construction that day, it to 45 minutes to move 500 yards. 15% of tour group gave up and walled back to the ship. 2. Tangier, Morocco. The city tour had the possibility of being a B+, and then we met our local guide. His goal was to get to all our scheduled stops as quickly as possible...so he could “get rid of us.” One bright spot — the very professional and enjoyable stop at the rug merchant and leather goods store. Overall a C. 3. Barcelona: We booked the 2-day post cruise. Loved it! But...we were told by the LA office and the Viiking Sea onboard team that we would be off the ship at 9 AM, and the bus ride to the Barcelona hotel would take one hour. So, I booked a 1:00 local tour. Unfortunately, the 1 hour tour took 3 hours! Then, 1 hour check-in. Result...missed our downtown tour. Lesson learned: do not book a tour too quickly on your post cruise. Overall: A-. Very Happy we took this tour.
