Where to begin? We chose to use the Viking air option. They used United which turned out to be very nice. The flight home from Barcelona was the best trans-Atlantic flight we ever experienced, movies, food, and wine, who could ask for more? About the cruise, I have always wanted to cross the Atlantic Ocean by ship. To rise each day to look out on the ocean was just the beginning. We have sailed with many cruise lines, over 7, and were astonished by the amenities, the food, both variety and preparation and tastes, the accommodations, service and especially the crew. The crew greeted us daily by name and always seemed to look for a different way to serve. The ship was always clean, as were the staterooms. The extra amenities, wine or beer with meals, use of the spa facilities, every stateroom is at least a balcony stateroom, complementary use of the specialty restaurants, and complimentary excursions in each port of call. I'll mention the spa as an example of the over the top ship. Not only is there a steam room, but when was the last time you relaxed in a room with ice and snow? Or you can torture yourself dumping a bucket of ice water on yourself after the steam room. The mineral pool was very relaxing as well. Or you could use the facilities in the men's and women's locker rooms. That is only the beginning. The rest you will have to discover for yourself. Looking forward to our next Viking Ocean Cruise !

Cabin Review

Cabin veranda

The cabin, which was the least expensive Viking offered, was spacious, clean, well appointed, and, as I mentioned before, included a balcony (they all do in fact). Plenty of room for all of your clothing, etc.. For our two week cruise we only brought clothes for one week as there are complimentary laundry facilities around the ship, very useful.
