Wanted to try a Viking Ocean Cruise, so we picked the Mediterranean. It was very nice, but the crew were not nearly as friendly as on our river cruises. They didn’t smile much or talk to us much. Some seemed to have a hard time understanding English. And we also saw some actually being trained while we were on our cruise. Our cruise director was a great performer but he never came up to us to say hello and neither did the crew members. The food was good, but I think it’s better on the river cruises. We seemed to have more fun on and off the boat on the river cruises. The crew members went out of their way to be nice and friendly on and off the boat. And all crew members on our past 2 river cruises seemed to know what they were doing and looked like they enjoyed their jobs unlike this last ocean cruise. Probably won’t go on another Viking ocean cruise, but have already booked another river cruise!
