  3. Oasis of the Seas
I would highly recommend the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Sea to anyone, especially as a honeymoon, but really for any sort of vacation or occasion. We had a balcony room on Deck 12 which was a very nice room, we enjoyed being able to sit out on the balcony in the morning/evening or when we were coming into port. Our stateroom attendant, Jermaine, consistently went above and beyond to make us feel at home, highly personable, went of his way to ensure everything in our room was to our satisfaction and along with the other housekeeping staff did what they could to make us feel special on our honeymoon. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jermaine. The food and service in the American Icon dining room were top notch. We were so impressed by our servers (which having been a server in the past, I'm a fairly tough critic), we actually reserved at table in their section every night. Trust the waitstaff recommendations on dinner options, every time we selected something they had recommended we were highly pleased with it. Honestly, don't bother spending the money on the specialty restaurants. We went to one and talked to other couples who went to a couple of the others and all of us agreed, that the food in the dining room was just as good if not better and the service was better than in the specialty restaurants. And for some great drinks in a really nice atmosphere check out the Trellis Bar in the Central Park Deck 8 area of the ship. Jude and his fellow bartenders always treated us great. The activities on the ship were a lot of fun too. You could make the trip as relaxed or as busy as you wanted. We loved the Honeymooner's get together - what a great idea to give all of us a chance to get to know each other. We forged a friendship with another couple that began in part through our attendance at the Honeymooner's get together. We also absolutely loved the night time game shows (love and marriage, battle of the sexes, quest, perfect couple, etc) and attended every one. As a singer, the Rock a Rokie karaoke with the band was so much fun, definitely something you should keep. The headliner show, ice show, and aqua theater show were all amazing. We didn't get to see the Come Fly with Me show because of technical difficulties -- we were disappointed but of course everything can't be perfect. But they did offer up other activities in its place. The quality of the entertainment was truly top notch. Our ports were Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. We did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim in the Bahamas. This was a bucket-list item for me and my husband and it was worth every penny we paid for it. We each got a "foot push" by the dolphins, got a dolphin hug, kiss, danced with them in the water, and more. Neither of us will ever forget that. At St. Thomas we went snorkeling and on a catamaran sail ride. The snorkeling was ok, we saw a lot of turtles and our guides were great, but I wish the area we snorkeled in had more coral reef or colorful fish. Finally in St. Maarten, we took it a little easier and went on an island tour by bus to see both sides of the island, did a little shopping, and took tons of pictures. All in all, it was the most amazing honeymoon we could ask for. Thank you Royal Caribbean and Oasis of the Seas! We will definitely be back!

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 6D 12214
We had an ocean view balcony on deck 12, not sure what numeric-alpha category it was (I just put 6D but I'm not sure).

The room had a very comfortable king size bed, a vanity area with light up mirror, flat screen tv, mini fridge inside a cabinet in the room, draws and cabinet space in the vanity, sofa and movable little coffee table, good size closet with bar as well as "cubby-style" spaces. We had enough room to hang all our clothes put our suitcase and carry on bags in the closet, and put any foldable clothes in the cubby spaces. The room also has a safe in the closet which was helpful too. The bathroom is small but typical of a cruise ship. The balcony was a nice place to spend time with enough room for them to have two small chairs and a table out there. The cabin was always kept clean.

  • Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim
worth every penny! We got into the water with two very friendly dolphins. We were in a group of 10 and each of us got a "foot push" by the dolphins, got a dolphin hug, a dolphin kiss, got to dance in the water with them, feed them, and pet them.

  • Island Tour
Tour guide took us in a bus to both sides of the island, he was very knowledgeable about the island and pointed out a lot. We got to shop in the french capitol for a half hour, took a ride on a carousel and get gelato (if you wanted) in another area, and saw the most amazing view of the island from a lookout point.

It was advertised as sailing on a pirate schooner to turtle bay and then snorkeling. Unfortunately, we didn't get a pirate schooner but a modern catamaran instead. We were disappointed but the crew on the catamaran was great. It was pretty windy that day so we wondered if maybe they weren't able to use the schooner. The snorkeling was ok, our guides were knowledgeable and let you snorkel on your own or follow them as they pointed out things. We saw several turtles, sting ray, and some fish. We wished the spot had a bit more in the way of colorful coral reef and/or more fish. The served rum punch on the way back which was a nice touch.
