The cruise overall was fantastic. We went on a 12 night cruise to Denmark, Estonia, Russia, Finland and Sweden. The ship was great. It was clean and well kept. My husband and I chose a balcony room. Our room attendant Abdul was the best we have had in all of our cruises and we are well over 20+ cruises. The balcony is especially important when sailing though Sweden, the country has thousands of islands which are beautiful when you are coming into port. We used RCCL for all of our excursions except for Russia. I booked my own private tour company in St. Petersburg. Starting from the beginning Skagen was very nice and we did a cruise tour there. It is interesting because that is where the North and Baltic Seas meet. Talllinn what fantastic. We happened upon their music festival which added to the fantastic day. The city tour was great and we had a wonderful tour guide. We ended up at the Skagen brew pub and had a great time which rounded out the day quite well. For St. Petersburg I chose a local company call Alla Tours. There were five of us vacationing together and I found that booking a private two day tour with Alla with our own personal guide and driver was cheaper than the two day bus tour with our cruise line. Alla Tours was fantasic. We saw everything from the Hermitage and Church of Spilled Blood to Peterhof Grand Palace. We took a canal ride and went to some small local restaurants for lunch. We squeezed in Swan Lake in the evening. All things compared the best way to go is a private tour if you can manage it in St. Petersburg. Finland we had a great guide on our cruise tour, we visited the Vodka Bar and were dropped in the square for a bit of shopping. Easy taxi ride back to the ship with no trouble. Helsinki was beautiful. Stockholm, we had our own personal tour guide amongst our party of five, she lived there for a bit. The city is magnificent. Copenhagen city tour was a bit disappointing. It was a three hour walking tour, followed by a one hour boat ride. The walking tour was absolutely packed in the city, our guide was great but there was a lot of congestion and we had a very hard time seeing the sites. The boat tour was subpar and kind of boring. The food on the Brillance was very, very good. On our 12 night cruise we did go to the speciality restaurants on board which were outstanding. The onboard singers and dancers were great. The headliners were just OK. There was a ventriloquist and he was very good. They had a Beatles headliner band and they were just OK. With regard to the weather we lucked out! We were very lucky the weather overall was warmer and sunnier than usual. Little to no rain and sunny for the most part. Amsterdam was lovely we spent a day there before we boarded the ship. All in all if you ever have the opportunity consider this itinerary!

Cabin 1B

We have traveled on the Serenade class before we had a balcony room and it was very nice. Our room stewart, Abdul, was fantastic. Very enjoyable accommodations.

Port Reviews

Skagen

Nice city and sea tour. They took us to the area where the North Sea meets the Baltic Sea so that was interesting.

Stockholm

One of the folks in our party lived in Stockholm. We had our own personal tour guide! The city is beautiful. We walked most of it during the day.
