We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the amenities.
The passenger age definitely skews to the over 60 crowd.
The food was among the best we have ever had on a cruise ship. The specialty restaurants offered a good variety of dishes. The Italian and French restaurants were the better of the 4. As New Yorkers, we have no shortage of good steakhouses or Asian restaurants so the bar is high.
Food at the buffet was very good. Our only complaint was that they served the same entree (suckling pig) 3 nights in a row at the end of the cruise.
The Oceania special excursions are very good. The other excursions are no different from any other cruise line.
The cruise director is useless. The entertainment (or lack thereof) is limited to the stock "tributes to" variety. A comedian would have been nice.
The WIFI was HORRIBLE. Do not pay for the enhanced WIFI, it is no better.
Service was excellent. The staff was cheery and accommodating. Our butler Francis was a true gentleman.
The buffet is not self service which is a good thing as you don't have to worry about passengers touching the food.
cabin was nicely appointed. Suite was 400 sq. feet. TV should have been larger given the size of the room and should have been more easily angled for viewing from the sofa. Sofa was rock hard.
Its your average cruise port. It will take between 45 - 90 minutes to get there from the airport. Check in was smooth.
