Set sail from Amsterdam after spending two days in it prior to going on the cruise, we loved Amsterdam and will return there at some point. We stayed at the Movenpick hotel so just a 100 yd walk to the cruise terminal. Embarkcation was relatively straightward, and we were onboard after about an hour and a half. We didnt have long to wait until our cabins were ready just after 1.00, alongside our luggage. The sail from Amsterdam to the North Sea was not the most scenic, with a lot of industry along the way.
This was our first cruise with Celebrity and we were very impressed, with both the staff and crew of the Eclipse, the ship itself was kept spotless, and there is plenty of activities to keep you occupied during sea days. We didn't eat every night in the MDR but when we did we enjoyed every meal and were well looked after by Alexio and the rest of the dining room staff. If we didn't eat in the MDR we used the Oceanview Café where there is a vast choice of starters main and desserts. We also used the Mast Grill for a couple of lunches. We had signed up for the Classic package and never once felt the need to upgrade to the Premium Package, had a couple of Drambuie's, and had to sign an additional slip, but that was it.
Plenty of selections of beers spirits and wines.
Cabin was kept very clean by our steward Romer. The shower always had plenty of hot water with good pressure, our room was OK, we thought that we didn't have enough space for our clothes until we discovered the spaces above the bed. Made reasonable use of our balcony particularly in the morning and in the evening. 8166 is quite close to the four bank elevators, but never heard any noise coming from that area. We slept very well in a big and comfy bed, and heard very little noise throughout the cruise.
We loved Amsterdam, great atmosphere throughout the city.
Another walk into town passing the little Mermaid on the way, easy to walk around, we also took a hours canal cruise, then had a lovely lunch.
Walked from cruise terminal into Market Square, unfortunately Helsinki was shut as it was Midsummer Festival, no shops open, although bars, cafes were.
Delightful stop, very walkable into Tallinn old town, plenty to do and see. Sat and had a couple of drinks in the town square
Walked from the cruise port to the Vasa Museum, which was very impressive. Stockholm is beautiful, with many impressive buidings
