We chose the Carnival Horizon when another line changed to an iterary that would not work for our group. The Horizon had the dates and pricing that fit into everyone's budgets. Even though the ship is huge, you never feel like you're in a crowd. We had a balcony cabin and it was spacious enough for the two of us. The showers are slightly larger than other ships we have been on but it's still small. We also had a sofa and table and stool in our room. My only wish was for more drawers, three is not enough. The cabin was always clean and the towel animals were replaced daily.

The dining room was service was excellent our wait staff, (Doni, Supack and Milosh) remembered all of our names by the second night, even though we kept changing seats on them. These poor people not only have to serve food but dance and put on shows almost every night. They do it all with a smile and with style.

If you have a chance to cruise with Cruise Director Chris the Flying Scotsman, do it. The man has more energy than a power plant and gives 110% of himself every show.

Always clean and well maintained. Beds are very comfortable.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

While not my favorite island to look at our shore excursion booked through Carnival was excellent. We had bus transportation to the resort and once there we were greeted with mimosas and beautiful cabana's right near the bar. There were hammocks and string swings and then a wonderful buffet lunch of local dishes. Food was amazing and the drinks plentiful
