Overall an excellent ship, great service, entertainment (B.B. King!), and the food was pretty good. Loved that a cruise director wasn’t featured, the selling was minimum, and the public announcements were few. The itinerary was wonderful.

The smoking area on the Lido deck and the casino need to be looked at. It’s too much and I am a smoker. The Flan RR excursion was poorly organized. The handicap issue wasn’t addressed making a mess. The Lido dining room is so bad it should be avoided. Food was ok but it’s poorly designed. The elderly have a hard time with it, backing up everyone.

The cabin issue is described below. Other than the noise, the cabin and location were great.

Cabin Review

Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VA

Loved the cabin and location. Twice, in fairly rough weather a loud pounding,

so loud the floor vibrated, kept us awake the whole night. Reported it to the front desk after the first night and nothing happened. After the second time I made it clear I wanted a reply. The next day the front desk called and said the ship was built with flexibility therefore the noise. Said they would compensate us and they did credit us $ 400. NIce, but I’d rather have two nights sleep. Now, all large ships have flexibility built in but not all have the pounding problem. This was felt by all cabins beneath us and was reported to the desk. HAL needs to deal with this and should be honest about it when selling this room.
