We chose this cruise because of the price and itinerary. Embarkation was very smooth. The cabin (a BB grade balcony) was 'cosy' Dining was mostly excellent (had the odd 'strange' meal). The entertainment wasn't as good as other cruises we've done. Service was excellent throughout. Except for one occasion when a table waiter 'back-chatted' us due to a dessert my other half didn't like..!! Ports of call were all very nice. Especially liked the Rouen Notre-Dame trip which we did via the Princess Cruise Personaliser... very good value for money with an excellent multi lingual guide. We went as a couple, but my sister and her husband and their two friends were also on the same cruise. No children. The ship, Princess Royal, is MASSIVE..!! but strangely finding our way around was easier than smaller ships we've been on. The 'guests' were mostly American, i'd say 75%(?), and on their own were very pleasant, but in a group can be very noisy and brash, i'm not saying that's bad, its just not what we're used to. We thought the prices of all the alcohol on-board was excessively priced.... We did the 'wine tasting' at $9.50 each, and were served up 5 of the most disgusting wines i think i've ever tasted. Got home and googled them all and they all came in at around the $4.50 a bottle price, so goodness knows what Princess get them for.

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin BB R
Although it did its job this was the smallest cabin we've ever had on any cruise. The bathroom was compact and bijou, as was the balcony. But we did like the size and position of the tv.... along with all the included channels.
