We chose Norwegian for two reasons - the itinerary, which was new to us, and on the recommendation of friends and our cruise adviser. We stayed three nights in Copenhagen prior to boarding and really enjoyed this lovely city, although it is very expensive and probably not good enough value to encourage us back. Because we were there we arrived to board at 10.30am hoping that we might get boarded a little before 12.00pm. We were very pleasantly surprised to be aboard at 10.55am, and found the embarkation process professional and efficient, with the staff very courteous and helpful.

We enjoy cruising because of the opportunity to visit new cities, the food, the (usually) superior service and the luxurious appointments of the ships. Apart from the cities, which were all very beautiful and interesting (and all new to us), the cruise disappointed a little, with our overall feeling being that Norwegian (at least on this ship) fall below the standards which we have come to expect and love.

To find large toe nail clippings on the floor beside our bed was a little off-putting to say the least. We didn't complain because this was so early in our cruise, and we felt that this was likely to be an isolated disappointment. However, although we had no other events such as this, our steward never really showed much initiative. He never really disappointed either and was pleasant enough, but he just didn't meet the standards of our previous stewards. We were on an ultimate premium all inclusive package which included 1L of bottled water per day, and we were faced with 18 large bottles on day one which were left in our cabin - this didn't help with the usual challenge of storing clothes etc. in a confined cabin. We were just glad that our cabin for 4, was only accommodating the two of us. Our balcony (room 13236) was the smallest we have ever had and didn't allow us both to stretch out on our seats.

Fine, usual difficulties with storage. Toe nail clippings were a rather unwanted 'extra'
