When Irma struck last fall, we had to change our all-inclusive, 60 passenger cruise to the British Virgin Islands, We chose Avalon's river cruise on the Rhine and Moselle Rivers,Having taken many cruise ship vacations, we were unsure about river cruising but absolutely loved everything about this trip .Both embarkation and disembarkation were smooth. Another time we would explore Amsterdam a few days prior to meeting the ship. The Artistry II is meticulously maintained with cabin cleaning 2X daily, meals and excursions are included(additional excursions are available and reasonably priced), meal offerings are varied, delicious, and often gourmet. Service is impeccable and comfortable. Accommodations for passengers needing special meals or walking modifications made this an easy trip with time to spend on the ship at one's leisure. Guides were excellent. Entertainment was just enough, giving passengers time to meet others, explore via bicycles, enjoy happy hours, read, or enjoy the scenery. Our captain was musically gifted which we enjoyed. We were back aboard for lunch and dinner but Avalon also made available extra time in cities with passengers sometimes meeting the ship at a docking further down/up river in time for dinner. The crew and passengers felt like family or good friends by the end of the trip. We definitely will book another Avalon cruise!

Cabin Review

Outside Stateroom with Window

Cabin D

Our cabin was attractive, clean, in fine working order, comfortable, and adequate regarding storage. The shower was wonderful. The amenities such as toiletries, robes, towels, bottled water, and air conditioning made it a very pleasant trip. Most of the days the view from our slider windows provided interest and a sense of the country's geography. Only once were we docked for a short time alongside another ship. Going through the several locks went smoothly and done at night.
