Many people told us to go on a River Cruise as we would have a great vacation, But, this Rhine River cruise from Amsterdam to Basel exceeded our expectations ! The cabin room was always clean and the bed comfortable. The crew called us by name and he barmaid knew my drink of choice by the second day. The daily shore excursions were fabulous - interesting with very informative guides and were not difficult from a physical perspective. On board entertainment was local folks and enjoyable. The food was plentiful and varied from meal to meal and place to place so there was always a chance to experience local cuisine. The evening piano player had a great personality and we looked forward to pre-dinner drinks with him every evening. The daily “next day” activity reviews by the Cruise Director were informative and got us excited about the next day. We were so impressed with Vikings planning, timing, and personal attention that we booked another cruise while on board. We can’t wait to go again !!
