We chose this cruise to spend time with our adults sons. Planned and booked it over a year in advance. My husband and I just sailed on the Pride in April and had a great time... we trusted Carnival... BIG mistake! First port my 24 year received a compound fracture of his finger from his cabin door... it seems that and slip and falls are the biggest medical accident at on board. So for the rest of the cruise he can't go in the water or do any of the activities! But it gets worse! We come back on board in Roatan and my 21 year old heads to the hot tub... an hour lAter we receive and call in our cabin from the ship that my son has left the ship and we have 20 min to get him back on board before the ship leaves port. Needless to say I rush down to the gangway while my other son and Thor father search the ship for him. The crew shows me my son scamming on board the ship and 45 min later him scanning off. I am told I now have 15 to find him. I ask to have him paged, the crew refuses, I ask to see a video of him leaving the ship, they refuse. The officer assures me it's full proof... they don't make mistakes. I rush off the boat while the crew is refusing to help me even after I tell him my 21 year old is high functioning autistic and if he go todd the boat someone took him. A nice port worker for carnival takes me around in a golf cart around the port shopping area where at that point it is a ghost town. He then proceded to tell me if my son is out there then he is more then likely dead... at which point I loose it. We start searching in the bushes and brush for a dead body... we make it back to port as the ship is pulling in the gangway. I refuse to get off the gangway pleading for help. Pleading for someone to page him and crying hysterically all the while not ONE carnival employee helps, they stand around staring at me. The officer then tells me the ship is leaving in 5 min and I plead agian for help. I am told he's 21 and can do what he want but I need to make a choice to stay or get back on the boat. My husband is there and is crying saying he can't find him and the ship refuses to page him or help. I tell my husband to run to the room and get a bag and my passport that I can't leave him out in Roatan alone when the ship has told me he's probably dead or taken. I am told by the ship if I get off its my choice so I get off the boat and stand in the dock screaming for help... still the ship refuses to page him or pull the video of him getting off the boat. While my husband is running to the room he screams again to page our son! Finally he is paged and the gangway is pulled away from the dock with me left on it alone. My son is on the ship and hears his name. He NEVER left the boat! I am on the dock alone and my husband Sees our son walking back to his cabin with 2 guards screaming at him.... my husband screams for someone to call down to get me back on the ship! They call down to the gangway and I was able to get back on. Not one crew member said sorry for the error, sorry we put you through this, sorry but he's not dead or sorry our scanning system made a mistake! The boat almost left me because they told me he was off the ship!!! The guards are still screaming at my son saying he got off the boat and my son is now scared not knowing what is going on screaming he never left the boat! We all literally cried all night. 2 days later we are trying to find out what happened and how carnival could make such a huge Error and no one on the boat cares! We were a wreak the rest did the cruise, we were so upset and agitated and finnaly the head of guest servises and head of security finally met with us our last full day and said their scanner malfunctioned and they didn't want to page our son and disrupt 3000 passengers and if I stayed in Roatan it would have been my issue not there's even though they told me he was off the boat when he wasn't. Carnival tried to give us a steak dinner which we declined. This experience was so much worse then I could ever put into words! We called Carnival when we returned to NJ and they knew nothing about the incident even though they were supposed to be notified by the ship. Supposably they are looking into the incident. It ruined our week which should have been an amazing bonding time with my children...
