My cruise mate saw this cruise advertised and she asked if I wanted to join her and I said sure, why not! Having seen Viking river cruises advertised on my PBS channel gave me a hint to what was expected knowing it would be wonderful! The anticipation of our journey from booking till the cruise was well worth it when we were thrilled by our Rhine trip. The boat was very spacious for the 188 passengers and the staff made you feel welcome and like family! The excursions were fun and informative. Thicker soled shoes would have been better on all of the cobblestone streets and preparing more for all of the walking is advised. Spending a day on the mid-Rhine would have been enhanced by some history of the castles and towns seen perhaps via our listening devices.

You won't find better food anywhere than on a Viking cruise. Many meals were absolutely outstanding warranting seconds. The desserts were incredible! From head chef to wait staff all were excellent and accommodating to your every need. The wine and beer selections with meals added to the fine dining experience. Both menu offerings and buffet selections gave you many options for a great meal!

The room accommodations were more than adequate since you spend so little time there. The common areas on the boat gave you space to relax and meet the other passengers. Read more
