We had previously been on this ship twice before and were looking forward to the promised 'enhanced' Independence. All that has happened is that Royal Caribbean have added a lot more cabins, more restaurants which you have to pay for and extra childrens facilities. The ship was far too full - there was nowhere to sit and trying to get a lounger by the pool a definite non starter.

The food in the Windjammer was excellent with a great selection at all times but this closed at 9 pm. The food in the dining room was ok - nothing spectacular - but hardly any vegetables at all.

The entertainment has definitely gone downhill. This cruiseline seems to be obsessed with quizzes - doesn't cost a lot to provide! One of the main singers in the production shows should have been sacked - ear-crunching. The ice shows were spectacular. Read more
