Sail Date: Jun 2018

We had previously been on this ship twice before and were looking forward to the promised 'enhanced' Independence. All that has happened is that Royal Caribbean have added a lot more cabins, more restaurants which you have to pay for and extra childrens facilities. The ship was far too full - there was nowhere to sit and trying to get a lounger by the pool a definite non starter.

The food in the Windjammer was excellent with a great selection at all times but this closed at 9 pm. The food in the dining room was ok - nothing spectacular - but hardly any vegetables at all.

The entertainment has definitely gone downhill. This cruiseline seems to be obsessed with quizzes - doesn't cost a lot to provide! One of the main singers in the production shows should have been sacked - ear-crunching. The ice shows were spectacular.

Cabin Review

Cabin ocean view

The cabin was ok and the bed and pillows quite comfortable. It was kept immaculate by the cabin steward. Unfortunately Royal Caribbean don't supply any toiletries anymore except for soap, tissues and shampoo gel.
