Trip Details
  • Sail Date: Jul 2018
  • Destination: the Eastern Caribbean
  • Cabin Type: Ocean View Balcony

We had not sailed on a giant ship previously, so this was a new experience for us.

Yes, the ship is bigger, which means more walking and larger crowds at the buffet, but the larger ship means they are able to put on more professional entertainment and a larger assortment of other activities.

We were a party of 12, and all of our cabins were very nicely designed and maintained by the cabin staff.

Our dining room staff was beyond excellent, even to the point of anticipating our requests.

The shows, Grease and Columbus were very well done. As I mentioned, the larger ship gives them the ability to do more that they could on a smaller ship.

The RoyalIQ app needs lots of work and those that had it complained endlessly about the WiFi. When you are charging as much as cruise lines do, you deserve better quality of service.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience and would not hesitate to book on this ship again.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 4D 8538

Best cabin layout I have ever had on any cruise ship. Really nicely laid out, with lots of storage. The bathroom shower stall seemed larger than most.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Scenic Railway

Nice time touring part of the island on the train, and an enjoyable cruise back to the port on a catamaran.

St. John Tour

St John is still rebuilding, so some of the places we would have visited are still closed. While I fully understand that, no action was taken to substitute other sites

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Nothing to review. We arrived at the port and boarded the ship

Nassau

We walked down the pier and into town for some shopping, then back to the boat
