We loved our time on the Spirit! From the time we got on (which went so much faster than any previous cruise experience) we had nonstop fun. The main pool area was lovely, plenty of seating and always something in the shade, and it wasn't a cruise that the pool was always overrun by kids which made our child free vacation so much more relaxing. The freestyle dining meant we could always decide if we wanted to go straight to dinner when getting back on board or go relax in the hot tub for a while. The food was amazing each night, with international cuisine we all enjoyed. Disembarking in each port went smoothly, although we somehow always seemed to be at the spot furthest from the port exit. The only time it didnt seem to be a smooth process was when we took an excursion. They should really rethink how they get the excursion groups together, because that morning was pure chaos and despite arriving on time we didn't realize our group had left and were among the last on the bus. My parents loved the live music each night, although their favorite dancing was always a 45min show each night and they wished it had lasted longer. Overall we loved our time, and it was exactly what we were hoping for!
Not our favorite city, although to be fair it was a Sunday and lots was closed. There was a shuttle from the boat to downtown which I had a hard time telling about online prior to the trip. They dropped us off in a very central location to be able to grab a hop on hop off bus or public transportation.
The port was beautiful and one of our favorites! We highly recommend the La Sagardia Familia church, but book a time for it! The line was crazy. We took the cruise shuttle again and the last return shuttle was 1.5hr before the ship left port, instead of the hour before it was every other port, so a huge pile of us ended up having to find an alternative route back to the boat.
Malta was magical. Take the Lift up the Upper Barrakka Gardens! It saved time and was a beautiful view!
We walked up the beach in Cannes, found a restaurant with beach chairs to rent, and relaxed. It was the perfect calm day in the midst of a week of lots of walking.
We rented a car (it was terrifying driving, not going to lie!) and found a small beach to relax on. Perfection.
