Western Mediterranean Cruise: Great ports of call, however excursions fail to interest. Service in food, drink and stateroom preparation are excellent, but rest of ship staff (front desk, loyalty, security, and excursions) are disinterested, unaccommodating, and quick to try to push issues to other departments. Quality of food and selection inferior to Caribbean cruises with many of the premium menu items only available if upgrade cost is paid. Communication of on board drink packages are extensive however they are not communicated well to passengers. We relied more on what other passengers told us. Entertainment was fair, but lacked the quality of the what we experienced on our other RCI cruises. Great ship for families. We were very happy to see all the children on board and between the pools, water slides and ice cream, they all seemed happy. The loyality program offered by RCI in our opinion has little to no value to passengers. Getting to and from the vessel at the beginning and end of the voyage is brutal (viewed as not the RCI's problem). Some passengers had to walk from the train station to the port as no taxis were present and lost their way. So please be careful. Overall rating average.
