We chose the Norwegian Star out of Venice because a cruise vacation fits our familiy's needs and to see cities and ports of call that we have never visited before. We have not cruised in eleven years and wanted to experience developments in the industry.

The Star is a midsized ship, 2,600 passengers, and that was plenty to achieve extraordinary diversity as to age and ethnicity. We heard multiple languages being spoken and enjoyed that portion of our experience.

The restaurants on board were all very good, both as to quantity and quality of food. We booked ahead for most nights which was very important to being seated without a substantial wait at dinner time. We appreciated seats being set aside in the buffet restaurant and at the theater for guests with limited mobility.

Our cabin was excellent. We were comfortable and had room to unpack. Our steward was pleasant and kept the cabin in excellent shape.
