This cruise was a multi-generational family gathering for my parents' wedding anniversary. We were on the Golden Princess, sailing northbound, at the end of June and also did a 3 day land tour at the end of the trip.
I had been worried about the condition of the ship based on previous reviews. Is this the newest ship with every bell and whistle (like the water slides our kids could see on the Norwegian Bliss)? No, it isn't. But we enjoyed the ship - we had a mini-suite with balcony, which I would highly recommend for Alaska. I did not notice any bad smells during our trip, and only saw one or two small leaks which were quickly fixed. The staff was very welcoming and warm - I thought the customer service was outstanding.
Highlights:
The mini-suite was really nice - plenty of room. The bed was very comfortable.
We enjoyed Vancouver and really liked the Hotel Westin Bayshore. We went out to the Capilano Suspension Bridge which was fun and beautiful.
Our time in Glacier Bay was fantastic.
